I am rogue recently had the pleasure of speaking with Britt Robertson about her work on Delivery Man, as well as the upcoming Tomorrowland. The talented young actress discussed her new film, the French-Canadian movie it is based on, writer/director Ken Scott, working with Vince Vaughn, her character, filming Tomorrowland, Brad Bird, George Clooney’s pranks, and what she can say about her role.
To begin with, were you familiar with Starbuck, the French-Canadian film that Delivery Man is based on, before you started filming?
Well, I was aware of the film but I hadn’t quite seen it yet. It was probably in my benefit because even after I got the part they made a pretty big effort to encourage me not to see it. They knew I was interested but they asked me to wait until after I filmed my scenes to watch it. They wanted me to have a clean slate and make the American version its own film without just being a different version of the Canadian film. They are both great movies but I think that they do have different aspects to them. For me, obviously it was easier to go into the film thinking that it was a brand new script even though it was the same director and writer. It just worked better for my performance at the time.
